What is Canva?

Canva is a user-friendly, free online graphic design tool popular among non-designers. It provides templates and tools for social media, presentations, postcards, promotional merchandise and web graphics. While great for quick designs, it has limitations for large-format printing.

Step-by-Step: Using Canva for Large Format Printing

Grab the Template

Download the PDF template from the product page. Check design specs for file requirements if no template is available.

Measurements

Canva uses pixels by default — you'll need to convert inches to pixels. Use a conversion calculator online. Canva Pro adds more unit options.

Custom Size

Always choose Custom Size rather than a pre-made template — pre-made sizes may not match product requirements.

File Dimensions

Most large products exceed Canva's limits. Scale your design down proportionally — we'll enlarge it for printing.
Canva max: 8000px × 3125px (83.33" × 32.55")

Use High Resolution Images

Use the highest resolution images available — at least 300 DPI. Most Canva elements are only suitable for up to A4 print size.

Color Profile

Canva uses RGB; we print in CMYK. Color shifts may occur during conversion. Order a printed sample if color matching is critical.

Export Your File

Click Share → Download → select PDF-Print (Canva Pro). Otherwise use JPEG or PNG — note these may not have sufficient resolution for large prints.

💡 When to Use Professional Software Instead

For complex designs or if your Canva file isn't meeting our specs, consider Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or Photoshop. If you don't have the software or skills, hiring a professional graphic designer is a great option.

⚠️ Our graphics team has limited Canva experience and can only provide basic guidance. There are many Canva tutorials on Google to help with file-specific issues.
